Job Description:

Our client is actively seeking a dedicated and meticulous Quality Engineer to join their dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the highest standards of quality for all food packaging products. This position entails extensive travel across the UK and Europe, particularly to Belgium, the Netherlands, and France, to work closely with manufacturing teams, suppliers, and clients, ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulations. The successful candidate will be a champion of quality, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for sustainability in the food packaging industry.


  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality control systems and processes to ensure the highest standards of food packaging quality.
  • Conduct regular quality audits and inspections at manufacturing sites across the UK and Europe, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with production teams, suppliers, and clients to resolve quality issues promptly, implementing corrective actions and preventive measures.
  • Coordinate with R&D and production teams to incorporate quality considerations into product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Manage and oversee product testing processes, ensuring that all products meet or exceed customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and present detailed quality reports to management, highlighting performance metrics, improvement opportunities, and strategic recommendations.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in quality engineering practices, applying these insights to drive continuous improvement.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a quality engineering role within the food packaging or related industry.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the UK and Europe, particularly to Belgium, the Netherlands, and France.
  • Thorough knowledge of quality standards and regulations relevant to the food packaging industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting audits, managing quality control systems, and leading quality improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and cultures.

Preferred Skills:

  • Professional certification in Quality Engineering or Quality Management.
  • Experience in sustainable and eco-friendly packaging solutions.
  • Proficiency in multiple European languages is highly advantageous.
  • Professional qualifications or coursework in AI/ML, demonstrating a keen interest in the application of these technologies in manufacturing and quality control.
  • Experience with or exposure to AI-driven quality control systems, predictive maintenance, or other AI/ML applications in the manufacturing sector is highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R, particularly in the context of data analysis or machine learning, is considered a significant advantage.
  • Knowledge of or experience with sustainable and eco-friendly packaging solutions, including insights into how AI can further sustainability objectives.
