Job Description:

Our client is in search of an astute and experienced Export Sales Manager for the UK & Europe, who possesses a deep understanding of the food industry and a proven track record in HORECA sales. The successful candidate will spearhead the company’s expansion efforts across European markets, identifying and capitalising on new business opportunities while maintaining and enhancing relationships with existing clients. This role demands a strategic thinker with a flair for navigating the complexities of international sales and a passion for the food industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Devise and implement strategic sales plans to expand the company’s footprint across the UK and European markets.
  • Cultivate lasting relationships with key stakeholders in the retail and HORECA sectors, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Analyse market trends and consumer preferences to identify new sales opportunities and areas for expansion.
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to align sales strategies with marketing campaigns, enhancing brand visibility and reach.
  • Manage and mentor a team of sales professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and teamwork.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients and distributors, ensuring profitable and sustainable business deals.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and standards, maintaining the company’s reputation for quality and integrity.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in export sales within the food industry, with a significant focus on the HORECA sector.
  • Fluent in English and at least one other European language, with exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the UK and European market dynamics, consumer behaviour, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth in international markets.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in sustainable and eco-friendly food products.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and digital sales tools.
  • Understanding of AI and data analytics tools for market analysis and sales forecasting is highly advantageous.
  • A network of contacts within the retail and HORECA sectors across Europe.
  • Proficiency in multiple European languages is beneficial.
